FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long until I can lay down, or bend over, after receiving treatment?
We advise our clients to wait at least four hours post-treatment to lie flat, or do any bending. This gives the toxin time to settle into the muscles of the face, without moving the toxin to places the injector did not intend to treat. Bending or lying flat prior to the four-hour mark may cause the injectables to shift throughout the face and weaken other facial muscles.
What can I do to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising after receiving injections?
Refrain from drinking alcohol 24 hours before coming in and 24 hours after. You can also purchase Arnica tablets from the studio, take one before and after treatment, and more if needed. We do not recommend using ice after a neurotoxin appointment. Any swelling from injection sites should subside within 4 hours post-injection.
I’m planning on traveling soon after my treatment. Will this have any effect on my injections?
If you are traveling for an event, we recommend getting your treatment 3-4 weeks before you leave, to allow us time for corrections if needed. You can be on an airplane after injections, but we recommend waiting 24 hours to be on the safe side.
How soon can I exercise after treatment?
We recommend waiting at least 24 hours to exercise. Excessive blood flow and movement can metabolize toxins quicker, thus affecting treatment longevity. We also want to prevent the toxin from diffusing to other muscle groups while it is beginning to work.
Are there any skincare products I should avoid?
There are no products that will “react” with toxin treatment. However, products with active ingredients such as Vitamin C or retinol may be irritating to the skin at the injection sites. We recommend skipping products with active ingredients for that night to help prevent any irritation.
Can you dissolve toxins if I am not happy with my treatment?
The toxin cannot be dissolved. However, it is never permanent! The treatment will wear off in about 2 to 3 months.
What should I avoid after receiving toxins?
Avoid lying flat for at least 4 hours as the toxins need time to settle into the face.
Avoid ice packs in the treated area. Too much pressure on the injection sites can cause the toxins to shift around the face and weaken other muscles.
Avoid exercising for at least 24 hours. Excessive blood flow can cause the body to burn off the toxin.
Avoid excessive alcohol consumption 24 hours before and after your toxin treatment. Alcohol can cause blood thinning that will prolong the healing process.
